The Batesville Area Arts Council recently hosted the third annual Artoberfest, an arts and music festival on Main Street in Batesvlile. The Oct. 20 festival featured over 30 local and regional artist/maker vendors, the Arkansas Arts Center Artmobile, and live music by Ed Casper, Love Holler, Sleeping Fit, and Walters & Rounds.
The festival also included a sidewalk chalk art competition for kids of all ages. The winners of this year’s contest were Amelia Morales-Szulga (K-6th grade) and Donna Terrell from Batesville High School (Junior High – College). Students from Lyon College’s mural painting class, with professor Dustyn Bork, worked on a new “Greetings from Batesville” mural that will be installed in the Pocket Park.
This year’s festival was sponsored by Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, FutureFuel Corporation, and Lyon College.
