Open enrollment begins tomorrow (Nov. 1) in the state-based health insurance exchange.

The program provides health insurance plans for individuals who do not have access to employer-provided insurance and uses the federal enrollment platform found on Healthcare.gov.

Individual plans available through the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace are designed to meet the needs of Arkansas families and provide a variety of options to fit household budgets.

Each plan provides comprehensive benefits and is administered by trusted insurance providers. Each plan includes “no restrictions for pre-existing conditions and no lifetime limits.” Standard healthcare benefits are also included such as inpatient care; outpatient services; emergency care; maternity and newborn care; and prescription drugs.

Additionally, financial help is available to help pay for the cost of insurance.

“Now is the time for those who have no insurance or those who need to renew their coverage to explore their options for 2019,” says Angela Lowther, the executive director of the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace.

And she says the place to start is myARinsurance.com.

Lowther added that Arkansans who currently have coverage through the marketplace should also visit the above website by Dec. 15 to explore new plans and prices for 2019.

If you are uninsured, you too should view coverages as an investment in the health of your family.
