The United Way of North Central Arkansas will begin releasing the names of children participating in this year’s Angel Tree program, Monday, Nov. 12, the agency noted in a press release.

Each year, United Way of North Central Arkansas helps hundreds of children each year know the joy of opening a gift on Christmas morning through the Angel Tree Program.

In 2018, the agency “…will be providing nearly 400 children of low-income families in Independence County with Christmas gifts,” according to the release.

United Way relies upon individuals and businesses to select an “Angel” and provide them with the gift of joy on Christmas morning. Names will be available to purchase gifts for the Angels from Nov. 12 through Nov. 30 at the following locations:

Centennial Bank, 1895 Harrison St. – Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Citizens Bank,  200 S. 3rd St. – Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to  5 p.m.
First Community Bank, 1325 Harrison St. – Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to  5 p.m.
Merchant & Planters Bank, 3081 Harrison St. – Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Southern Bank, 1583 S. St. Louis St. – Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

United Way is also accepting donations to help offset the cost of supplemental items and/or any children that have not been ‘adopted’ by Nov. 30. To support Angel Tree, donations can be made by mail to P.O. Box 2639 Batesville, AR 72503.

All donations are tax-deductible and United Way will provide a receipt upon request. For more information or to volunteer, contact the United Way office at (870) 793-5991.
