The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) will celebrate the final payment on the bond for Independence Hall. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the east side of Independence Hall, Monday, Nov. 12. A reception with heavy hors-d’oeuvres will follow in the building’s banquet hall.

Independence Hall was completed in the spring of 2001. In addition to the banquet hall, the 37,375 square foot facility houses an auditorium with a 1,500-seating capacity as well as classroom space and student services including the bookstore, grill, and the registrar’s office. The building is the site of numerous conferences and events throughout the year as well as the First Community Bank and UACCB Performing Arts Series.

“Independence Hall serves as a gathering place to bring our community together, whether it’s for professional events and conference or family-friendly entertainment,” said Deborah Frazier, chancellor of UACCB. “We hope everyone will join us as we celebrate this cornerstone of our community.”
