A house concert featuring Danny Tate, a musician, songwriter, and producer with local ties, is scheduled for Friday night in Batesville.
Tate has penned songs covered by artists such as Tim McGraw, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Travis Tritt, David Lee Murphy, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Smithereens, and Jeff Healey, and he has contributed to the soundtracks of the films How to Make an American Quilt, Boys Don’t Cry, and 3000 Miles to Graceland. He has also released three solo albums: Danny Tate (1992, Charisma/Virgin Records); Nobody’s Perfect (1995, Charisma/Virgin Records); and Destination X (2005, Noville Records).
Tate’s father was a longtime music director at Batesville’s First Baptist Church.
The intimate performance will be held at 10 Ridgecrest Dr., just east of the Lyon College campus, in Batesville. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the performance scheduled for 8 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students.
