The Retrospective Exhibition by George Chlebak is now underway at the Batesville Area Arts Council, and a gallery reception for the exhibition will be held, Saturday, Dec. 8, at the BAAC Gallery on Main.
From the BAAC release announcing the exhibition: “With a trained eye and his camera in hand, George Chlebak (1936 – 2018) happily traveled widely, looked closely at cathedrals, rivers, trucks, fairgrounds, and architecture old and new. He translated those subjects and many more into the canvasses, watercolors, drawings, and lithographs. After 40 years of teaching at various colleges, he retired in 2000 from Lyon College, where he was awarded as Emeritus Professor of art.”
The exhibition will be on display at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E. Main St., until Dec. 22.
The gallery reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m., during the Art Walk on Main Street. The reception is free and open to the public. This exhibition is sponsored by Lyon College.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.
