The L-U ARK 4H group in Bethesda held a Haunted History Tour on Main Street Batesville on various nights in October. The student-led activity was held rain or shine.

The students, along with their advisors, searched through documents and learned the history of Main Street Batesville and then reenacted several of the most memorable moments. Groups met at the Coca-Cola mural on Central Avenue in Batesville and then were led on a two-hour tour of the downtown.

The Haunted History Tour was a success for the student group, and they were able to meet their fundraising goal. During the November Main Street Batesville board meeting, several of the students attended and presented Main Street Batesville with a $350 donation. The group plans to partner with Main Street Batesville to continue the tours.

When asked what future plans were for the tours, they said, “We hope to enter into some buildings to make the tours even better. We will also be expanding our reenactments.”
