An important link to be handled tomorrow by the Batesville City Council will aid the process of a major business changing hands in the community.

The council meets in a special meeting at 12:30 p.m. Thursday to consider a resolution approving the assignment of the lease of the “Lockhouse.” The land on which the property sits is owned by the city of Batesville. The business is now known as “Josie’s Steakhouse.”

White River Now has been told that Josie’s will soon be in the hands of another Batesville company.

The resolution for tomorrow’s city council meeting says the council is asked to approve the assignment of lease of the property commonly known as the “Lockhouse” from Steve Carpenter Property Management, LLC to RBMJ Leasing, LLC. That’s why the lease has to be changed by the council to reflect the new owners and/or operators.

The Batesville City Council meeting will be at the Batesville Municipal Building, 500 E. Main St. All city council meetings are open to the public.
