The partial shutdown of the federal government has impacted many federally funded projects and attractions nationwide including services in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests.

The U. S. Forest Service-Ozark-St. Francis National Forests posted to their official Facebook page on December 22 about the cancellation of all tours of Blanchard Springs Caverns that is located near Mountain View.

The Service describes Blanchard Springs Caverns as a “living cave” that is constantly changing and growing.  Three guided tours of varying intensity are led by Forest Service guides. Blanchard Springs also offers camping, fishing, and swimming areas as well as biking and hiking trails.
