Reports are filtering in that a structure is currently on fire on Harrison Street in Batesville between Casey’s General Store and AutoZone. The Batesville Fire Department is on the scene. Both westbound lanes on Harrison are currently closed from Moore Street to the entrance of AutoZone, and authorities are asking motorists to proceed with caution and stay out of the area if possible.

UPDATE 1/3/2019: The cause of the fire cannot be exactly pinpointed at the moment and is under investigation by the home owner’s insurance. The fire originated in the bathroom of the home.
