Sometimes a person just asks for it.

Sheriff Shawn Stephens said he was in the emergency room at the White River Medical Center with a person who had been injured in a recent pursuit when he heard a woman causing trouble.

She was being abusive and shouting obscenities at the staff, according to the sheriff. Stephens asked her several times to be quiet or leave the premises. She didn’t, so Stephens cited her for disorderly conduct.

The irate woman then told the sheriff she had rather be in jail.

So Sheriff Stephens accommodated her.

A deputy took her to the Independence County Detention Center.
