A two-vehicle collision on Highway 25 at Tumbling Shoals in Cleburne County Saturday afternoon, January, claimed the lives of two minors.

State Trooper Andrew Lay stated in his preliminary report, the two minors killed, a male and female, were passengers in a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was traveling southbound on 25.

The other vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound. Lay said the Ford pickup ran off the roadway, over-corrected, and went into the northbound lane where it struck the southbound Tacoma.

Trooper Lay reported the driver of the Ford F-150, Sufian A. Tarer, 49, of Conway and another minor in the vehicle were injured. Also among the injured, the passenger in the Tacoma, 36-year-old Holley J. Nichols and 47-year-old Ron P. Nichols, the driver of the Tacoma, both from Conway.

Trooper Lay said the injured were taken to Baptist Hospital, UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Weather conditions were clear, and the roadway dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.
