Two new initiatives from First Community Bank are aiming to continue the revitalization of Batesville’s downtown district.

The bank recently renovated a building at the corner of Main and Third streets. This full-service banking center in the heart of downtown represents the bank’s 22nd banking location.

“Our investment in downtown Batesville continues,” said Dale Cole, chairman and CEO of First Community Bank, in a release announcing the new programs. “We have developed two new initiatives that will add another spark to the revitalization efforts of the downtown district.”

First Community Bank’s Downtown Revitalization Loan Program became available in December. For this program, the bank has allocated up to $10 million dollars at a fixed rate of prime minus .50 basis points (fixed for five years) for property improvements of businesses in Batesville’s downtown district, according to the release.

A second initiative, the First Community Bank Revitalization Matching Grant Program, matches dollar for dollar up to $2,500 for building improvements of any commercial business in Batesville’s downtown district.

“We believe that a vibrant downtown is essential to the overall health of our community,” said Cole. “We can’t wait to see how the local business owners can leverage these monies to make great things happen for their businesses and our community.”

Robb Roberts with First Community Bank has more information along with the terms and conditions for the programs, according to the release. To contact Roberts, call (870) 612-3400.
