Two women and a man have been charged in Stone County Circuit Court with stealing from a woman who they were supposed to be helping bond out of jail in Poinsett County.

Katherine Joyce Neer went to police and told them about her situation, according to court documents. Neer said she had been arrested for failure to appear in Poinsett County District Court.

Christopher Walraven, 26, was one of the people in a car with Neer at the time of her arrest, the court records state. Her property (debit card, driver’s license, and social security card) was given to Walraven to give to her mother.

The property never made it to her mother. Instead, Walraven and two women apparently used the debit card between Nov. 30 and Dec. 18 of 2018 to make 16 purchases online and at convenience stores for a total of $190.23.

Then, the court information said a new debit card was requested in Neer’s name and sent to an address on Oak Street in Mountain View where Joyce Rogers, 30, was living. That card was used at an ATM by Walraven and Cheyenne Star Sparks, 23, to withdraw $500 dollars from Neer’s checking account. The court record said that made a total of $690.23 stolen from Neer’s account.

Walraven, Rogers, and Sparks are all charged with financial identity fraud, theft of property, fraudulent use of a debit card, and accomplice liability.
