During their regular meeting last night, the Mountain View City Council took up an issue that was tabled at its last meeting.

It was a request from a Mountain View restaurant, Mi Pueblito, to support their effort by ordinance to sell alcoholic beverages at the restaurant located on the square in Mountain View.

The councilmen tabled the issue at the earlier meeting to allow the city’s citizens to contact their councilmen and let them know their preference on the issue.

Mountain View Mayor Roger Gardner said a survey of the councilmen showed that city residents opposed the sale of alcoholic beverages inside the city limits by a margin of well over three-to-one.

The council then voted unanimously to not introduce or support an ordinance for the sale of alcoholic beverages inside the city limits.

Gardner said the council also addressed bids for the purchase of a trash truck for the city at the meeting.
