A 29-year-old man is behind bars and facing 500 counts in relation to child pornography, according to a press release.
The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division, the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, and the Jonesboro Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Division executed a search warrant on Wish Street in Pleasant Plains yesterday, Feb. 14, after the state police received information about child pornography being downloaded from an IP address, according to the release.
A search warrant was obtained for the registered address and during the search, evidence was found and a sawed-off shotgun was also located in plain view.
Kevin Barnes, Jr. (pictured) has been arrested and faces formal charges of distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child (500 counts) and one count of criminal use of prohibited weapons, according to the release.
