The Independence County Library is holding a food drive to benefit Batesville Help and Hope. During the month of March, library patrons can donate food to the library in exchange for having some of their late fees waived.
For every food item brought in, library patrons will have 50 cents of their late fees removed from their account. Food donations are also welcome from patrons who do not owe fines.
The items most in need are canned tuna, canned chicken, and canned fruit. However, all non-perishable food items will be gratefully accepted. For more information, please contact the library at (870) 793-8814.
