Southside Southerners wrestling program placed tenth overall in the state in the 1A-4A class. Four of students were awarded medals during the competition.
Ryan Heron was recognized as state runner-up in the 132-pound weight class. Vern Derring finished fifth in the 195-pound weight class. Both Seth Wojcik and Jacob Dunne finished sixth in their respective weight classes.
Coach Brian Reardon said, “It was our best season to date and my team consist of all ninth and tenth graders and one junior. So the future is bright for the southerners wrestling program.”
