Two individuals in Circuit Judge Tim Weaver’s court were sent by the judge to take a drug test last Thursday, Feb. 28.
Instead, according to court info, the two — Charles J. Youngberg, 38, and Rebecca D. Avey, 38 — left the waiting area and jumped into Avey’s vehicle to leave.
That’s when the duo realized the vehicle’s battery was dead.
An officer of the court then saw the two running west toward Maple Drive in Mountain View.
Deputies caught and detained Avey, but Youngberg was not found. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Avey is in custody and now faces charges of felony third-degree escape and felony hindering apprehension.
The court documents said Avey is being held without bond. The information said Youngberg will not be bondable either.
