The Independence County Quorum Court will face a relatively light agenda when it convenes on Monday, March 11.
The only item of new business is a request from the director of the Independence County Senior Center to fill a job vacancy. The request is standard operating procedure.
Three ordinances and two resolutions will come before the court members. These would actually be new business, but the agenda did not lay them out that way.
Ordinance 2019-07 transfers funds between line-items, categories, and budgets in the county general fund.
Ordinance 2019-08 amends ordinance 49 of 2017 to add funds into the 911 dispatch budget, UACCB fund, and fire department half-cent sales tax fund. What the ordinance actually does is increase the anticipated revenues for said funds for the 2018 budget year.
Ordinance 2019-09 also amends ordinance 49 of 2017 and the annual budget for 2018 and transfers fund between line-items, categories, and budgets in various funds.
Resolution 2019-03 says the quorum court supports the interim filling of a vacancy for Independence County Sheriff during times of emergency.
And Resolution 2019-04 says the court supports the Big Creek and Center Grove Bridge projects.
The JPs will also be asked to approve the minutes of their last meeting along with a meeting between the sheriff and Newark officials concerning their Interlocal Law Enforcement Agreement. The JPs will hear that the agreement is going along very well.
The Independence County Quorum Court meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the Jess B. Carpenter Building in downtown Batesville. The court’s meetings are all open to the public.
