Swing into spring at the 32nd annual Springfest in Heber Springs on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18. This free festival is packed with great family fun starting at noon on Friday and continuing all day Saturday. Springfest will have attractions, activities, and events at Spring Park and downtown Heber Springs.
An extensive arts and crafts show that features handmade items like jewelry, soap, leatherwork, furniture, and toys will be featured at Springfest. Attendees will also enjoy classic festival-food favorites like corndogs and onion blossoms, to shaved ice and kettle corn. Live music and other entertainment from local and regional names, like the band Just Sayin’, will keep things hopping at the Spring Park Band Shell and the Courthouse Square stage. Nature-loving kiddos will have plenty to explore at Springfest, including pony rides, a petting zoo, and the famous Butterfly Pavilion.
On Saturday afternoon, there will be a “Tribute to Our Heroes” that will honor the lives of those lost in service to our county. Fallen officers, firefighters, and EMS workers will also be honored. This ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation of the colors and the reading of the names of those lost in service through the years.
The Mountain Top Volkswagen Club will sponsor the 13th annual Volkswagen Car Show in Spring Park. Volkswagen enthusiasts can discover collectible cars from around the state or display their own restorations.
Saturday will also be full of events from the Classic Car Show, to a dog contest benefiting the Heber Springs Humane Society, the Springfest Pageant, and this year’s newest addition, the Parrish Arm Wrestling Slam Jam Tournament.
