An Oil Trough woman called authorities Sunday morning reporting an unknown man in her home. The police report said the woman was asleep when she heard loud knocking on the entry door with someone yelling: “Hurry, let me in.”

The woman said in the report she opened the door thinking it was her son who lived next door. But when she opened the door, a man immediately came in and headed toward the kitchen area.

The woman said she didn’t know who the man was, so she grabbed her dog, ran to her son’s residence, and contacted authorities.

When deputies arrived, they found Michael Allen Dimmer, 22, of Newark, lying in the doorway of a bedroom unconscious. When the deputies shook him, Dimmer began to moan and scream.

Officer Zach Bailey said in the report he could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Dimmer. Officers said he became combative, so they subdued Dimmer and placed hand restraints on him. He was then taken to jail to face three charges: criminal trespass into a structure, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
