Batesville Community Center hosts first “Batesville Gamer Night”

The results from the first “Batesville Gamer Night” hosted at the Batesville Community Center April 6.

The event was free to all ages which consisted of two separate gaming tournaments in two age groups (12 & Under and 13+). The game highlight was Super Mario Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch in which a total of 44 participants competed.

Outside of the tournament, six other stations set up with other gaming consoles like Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo and the original NES that guest of the event could play throughout the day.

There were also tables set up for table top games and strategy card games.

On Saturday, April 6, approximately 200 people come to watch and participate in the first time event. Below is the top two gamers of each division.

12 & Under Division

First: Ethan Insell, 12

Second: Jackson Richardson, 11

13+Division

First: Frank Weller, 21

Second: Aidan Altom, 19
