Get to downtown Batesville this weekend to explore the arts.
The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) is collaborating with Lyon College art students to host an Art Walk on Main Street Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event is a self-guided viewing of artwork in downtown Batesville and is free and open to the public for all ages.
The BAAC’s Gallery on Main, located at 226 E. Main, will host a reception that evening for their Seventh Annual National Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition features the work of 13 artists from six different states. (See below for two submitted pieces.) Awards will be announced starting at 6 p.m. This year’s award sponsors are Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, and Merchants & Planters Bank.
Lyon College students from Dustyn Bork’s color class will have their artwork displayed at 250 E. Main Street (formerly Babb’s Upholstery). Bork will give a guided tour of the downtown Lyon murals directly following the awards presentation at BAAC.
This art walk is sponsored by Citizens Bank.
