Pioneer boys win 4A-3 District Track Championship; Batesville hosts state championship tomorrow

The Batesville Pioneers High School boys took home the  4A-3 District Track Championship at Pioneer Stadium Friday. They edged Pocahontas 186-184.

The Pioneers girls placed second to Valley View with Batesville’s Taylor Griffin the high-point individual with four firsts and two fourths for 50 points.

Several Pioneers will be going to state tomorrow as Batesville hosts the state championship at Pioneer Stadium as district champs. Pioneers in competition include: Payne Moser; Caleb Anderson; Will Storlie; Jackson Beck; and Jon Anderson from the boys, and Taylor Griffin; Lexi Edwards; Lauren Cowden; and Kaylee Clark from the girls.

Will Storlie – 200m Dash (23.71)
Jackson Beck – 400m Dash (53.85)
Caleb Anderson – 1600m Run (4:48.17)
Payne Moser – Pole Vault (13’7”)
Jon Anderson – Shot Put (43’ 8.5”)
Lexi Edwards – 800m Run (2:36.38)
Lauren Cowden – 3200m Run (12:38.88)
Taylor Griffin – 100m Dash (16.93) / 300m Hurdles (49.82) / Long Jump (17’ 0.5”) / Triple Jump (34’ 8”)
Kaylee Clark – High Jump (5’ 1”)
