An Independence County man, who recently moved to a Pleasant Plains address, has been charged with 32 counts of viewing sexually explicit conduct involving a child — all felonies.

Authorities charged Robert Van Massey (pictured), 30, with 32 counts of downloading and viewing child pornography on his cell phone on eight different occasions from April 18, 2017, through February 9, 2019.

According to the court record, during an interview with authorities, Massey stated he downloaded the same video files on each occasion from the internet and then deleted them after he was finished viewing them.

The Independence County Circuit Court record said Massey told police he knew he was downloading child pornography files.

The court information shows Independence County Sheriff’s Department worked the case with special agents from the Arkansas State Police along with the Little Rock Police Department.

Massey was taken into custody and placed on a $25,000 bond.
