A Cave City woman is now in jail after being caught making a transaction in an alleged effort to smuggle illegal drugs and paraphernalia into the Independence County Jail.

The court documents say Jamie Lynn Jennings (pictured), 35, was apprehended by authorities after she took meth, tobacco, two lighters, and a pipe to a person who was to smuggle the items into the jail.

Jennings has been charged in Independence County Circuit Court with possession of meth; possession of drug paraphernalia to package meth; possession of drug paraphernalia to introduce meth into the human body; and furnishing prohibited articles into a lockup.  All four violations are felonies.
