Previously convicted sex offender accused of breaking parole rules

title-5

Stone County Circuit Court information says on June 19,  investigators recovered data showing that the cell phone of Jeremy Smith, 30, contained 10 social media accounts.

Those accounts included Facebook, Skype, Farmer’s Only, Match, Hookup, Tinder, Badoo, KIK, Plenty of Fish and Date My Age.

Some of the sites listed on Smith’s cell phone are also found in numerous convicted child predator cases.

Investigators say Smith failed to register the accounts on his cell phone as required by law.

Smith is charged with 10 counts of failing to comply with registration and reporting requirements, a requirement of a previously convicted sex offender.

It should be noted that sex offenders, before they are allowed probation or parole they are thoroughly informed of registration requirements and they are required to “sign off” as being informed, Smith did.

Smith was taken into custody and placed on a $20,000 bond.
