Mountain View’s first medical marijuana dispensary held a “Pre-Grand Opening” celebration and tour yesterday afternoon.
When it officially opens and is stocked with product, entry into the Fiddler’s Green Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Mountain View will only be allowed to those who have an official medical marijuana card provided by the state of Arkansas.
Yet, since no marijuana product was on-hand yesterday, tours inside the store were provided to the general public, according to Lisa Murphy, the owner of Fiddler’s Green.
Officials inspected the facility last week as it prepares to begin providing medical marijuana to those who have a state-issued card.
Fiddler’s Green is one of 32 dispensaries authorized by the state. The opening date will be posted on the dispensary’s Facebook page once the store is stocked and product is ready to sell.
The state has currently authorized five cultivators to provide the products.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the Arkansas Department of Health has approved just under 16,000 patients with the necessary identification cards in order to have prescriptions filled. The paper also noted Arkansas medical marijuana sales are initially on track to be among the strongest in the medical marijuana industry.
Fiddler’s Green Medical Marijuana Dispensary is located at 16150 Highway 9 in Mountain View.
