Cave City Celebrates with the 40th Annual Cave City Watermelon Festival

Since 1980, Cave City has celebrated the World’s Sweetest Watermelons with an atmosphere of fun, family and music. The town is gearing up to host the 40th Annual Cave City Watermelon Festival this week, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 10 a.m. Friday, July 26 and 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 27.

This year’s anniversary lineup includes three nationally recognized headlining artists, with one performing each night of the festivities.

Thursday night’s entertainment begins at 6 p.m. on the Melon Stage with Charles Landers and the Gospel Hour Singers, followed by Flatland Gospel Band at 7 p.m.

Taking the stage at 8 p.m. is headlined by The Down East Boys, whose recent singles “Beat Up Bible” and “Testimony Time” have claimed the number one spot on the Singing News charts. 

Other notable acts for Friday night include Rick Crawford and Triple Nickel, Erin Walters and Shannon Rounds and Saturday night will be Luke Stroud and the 50’s Beat, Drasco, Lauren Richmond and Garrett Duncan.

The festival will also feature the Melon Dash 5K, Cave City Cruisers Car Show, the Watermelon Parade and much more. 

Admission to the three-day festival is free, and includes all the entertainment featured on the Bank of Cave City Main Stage at the Cave City Park.
