Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce said today in Randolph County Circuit Court he will seek the death penalty against the woman who is accused of killing former State Sen. Linda Collins.

Rebecca Lynn O’Donnell (pictured right, with Collins in a social media post) was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty today in Pocahontas. In addition to capital murder, she is also charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Collins was found dead outside her home in Pocahontas June 4. She had apparently been deceased for some time, according to information from the crime scene.

O’Donnell entered her plea this afternoon in the court of Judge David Goodson. The judge also said there will be no bond for O’Donnell. Goodson has also partially lifted an order sealing records related to the case.
