A historic commercial building that was built in 1897 has been transformed into a luxury modern hotel in downtown Batesville.

The Royal on Main is located on Main Street and has eight modern, luxury suites. Each suite includes a mixture of vintage and historical characteristics which have been upgraded with modern amenities such as heated floor tile, and heated bidet toilets. As the suites were designed, the owners tried to take the things they like in hotels all over the world, and incorporate them into The Royal on Main such as large showers and large rooms.

According to the hotel’s website, “Since we do not have a staff member at the hotel, we tried to design each suite to be as self-sufficient and convenient as possible. This is to provide you with a relaxing, peaceful retreat in our downtown area. We have provided you with starting supplies, but if you need more, just do as you do at home, and stop by a local supermarket. For longer stays, we do provide housekeeping service once a week for general cleaning, change of bedding and towels, and replenishment of supplies.”

The owners also said they hope customers enjoy their stay, and takes advantage of all the stores and services that are conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel. There are excellent restaurants, movies, parks and churches in downtown Batesville.

“If there is something that you really need from us, please contact us, and we will make every effort to help you out as soon as we can,” they said.
