Batesville barber and stylist Troy Dixon is aiming to get local students off to a good start this school year. Until 2 p.m today, Dixon, who owns and operates Scissors and Clippers at 1112 Vine St., will be offering free basic haircuts and styles for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade along with a selection of school supplies (while supplies last).

Dixon told White River Now Cricket will be cooking hot dogs and supplying backpacks, and Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, and Walmart have also donated to the effort.

Scissors and Clippers is located next to Shipley’s Donuts in Batesville.
