The Independence County Sheriff’s Department had a busy weekend dealing with several domestic violence calls across the county.

According to a release from the department (see below), calls for domestic violence were made over the weekend from Oil Trough, Salado, Cord, Newark, and Charlotte.

All of the cases are currently under investigation, according to the release.

The release notes the department also made three arrests from traffic stops over the weekend that dealt with illegal drugs — namely meth. Those cases are under investigation by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, according to the release.
