Batesville public schools are growing and it’s showing!
In fact, a new school overall enrollment has been set at 3,500 students. And, this year the number was increased by 200 new students.
The growth is also seen in preschool where the move has been made from the east Batesville campus to the newly renovated Central campus.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Hester said the larger space has allowed the program to add an additional 100 children, and now serves 300.
Hester said that’s the good news. The bad news is that almost 200 children are on a “waiting list” to enter preschool.
Concerning the east Batesville campus, Dr. Hester said the school board is currently looking at it options.
