UPDATE, Aug. 19, 2019: Authorities report Dollison was taken back in custody on Aug. 18.

A community service worker who walked off from his assigned work detail earlier this week is still on the run.

Sheriff Shawn Stephens said Rodney Dollison (pictured), 32, of Newark was working on a trash truck that was picking up trash in Highway 122 and Walnut Grove Road area of the county, between Cord and Newark.

Authorities are still looking for him.

Sheriff Stephens said Dollison was in jail after being charged with third-degree battery.

Community service work is a way an inmate can pay off fines and reduce jail time.

Sheriff Stephens said, “we’ll catch him, and when we do, all he will have accomplished is getting more jail time.”

Dollison will not be allowed to return to community service work.
