The Mountain View Yellowjackets lose their home opener to the Salem Greyhounds, 52-14


The Mountain View Yellowjackets lost their home opener to the Salem Greyhounds by a score of 52-14.

The game was all Salem’s from the opening kick and they returned an onside kick, then went 46 yards on three plays for the first score.

Salem would score again after recovering another onside kick to take a 14-0 lead.

Mountain View would get on the board with a 18-yard touchdown run from J’Air Jackson to close the game to 14-8.

Salem would increase the lead to 30-8 before Tim Curran scored on two-yard touchdown run.

Salem would control the game the rest is the way winning 52-14.  Jackson led the offense with 45 yards rushing on four carries and a score.

Sophomore Joseph Rentz had four receptions for 33 yards.  Mountain View falls to 1-1 on the season while Salem starts their season at 1-0.
