news-siren-29

An Independence County man on probation is behind bars after authorities found multiple firearms at his residence.

According to the incident report, Arkansas Department of Corrections officers Corey McCullough and Dalton Wallace were conducting a home visit to a Rounds Road residence occupied by a man identified as Adam Lowry, 28. Upon arrival, the officers asked Lowry if he had anything in the home that would violate his probation, and Lowry stated that there were, in fact, guns in the bathroom. After entering the home, the officers found a .22-caliber rifle along with a 12-gauge shotgun, both unloaded, in the bathroom along with a .410 shotgun with a live round that was located in the closet. Lowry told the officers he knew possession of the firearms was against the terms of his probation, the report said.

After the officers contacted the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Adam McGilton responded, took possession of the three firearms, and transported Lowry to the Independence County Detention Facility. Lowry is facing a felony charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons.
