In a press release from this morning, Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens shared information regarding three domestic violence calls his department answered on Monday.
The first call was in the Thida community. The suspect was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic assault on a family or household member, the release said.
The second incident was in the Cushman area. The suspect left the area prior to the deputy’s arrival. The incident is under investigation for possible charges to be filed, according to the release.
The third call came from the Newark area. This case is still under investigation for violation of an order of protection.
The sheriff noted in the release his deputies also responded to a call in reference to theft of services in Magness. Stephens said charges will be filed in this case.
