A shooting late Monday afternoon near Timbo in Stone County took one life and seriously injured another.
The Stone County Sheriff’s Office has asked the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division to investigate the death of Dora Freeman, 46.
Deputies responded to a call for help from Nathaniel Freeman, 54, who reported a disturbance inside the home at 155 Lee Hill Rd. The call came in at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
When deputies arrived at the home, they found Nathaniel Freemen injured. He was transported to a Little Rock hospital where he was reported to still be alive Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies told Arkansas State Police special agents that Dora Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both she and Nathaniel Freeman had apparently sustained gunshot wounds.
The state police will prepare an investigative file and submitted to the Stone County Prosecuting Attorney.
