Later in the day, a truck fled from deputies on Coe Lane. In his release, Stephens said officers located a “large amount” of meth and illegal pills in the vehicle. All three are facing possible felony charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver, according to the release. Petree will also be facing first-degree forgery charges after counterfeit money was located in his wallet, and Wheeler was also wanted on several warrants out of Independence County, the release said.

And on Thursday night, based on information provided to the sheriff’s department, several deputies went to 75 Shultz Ln. to look for absconders staying at that location.

Sheriff Stephens said Dustin Clem (pictured above, left), Leslie Shutt (center), and Jamie Carter (Jennings) (right) were all taken into custody. Inside the residence, a large amount of meth and other related items were found, according to the release. The sheriff said Clem had been absconding from supervision, and two of the three suspects are on parole. All three are facing charges of possession of meth with the intent to deliver, maintaining a drug premises, and possession of drug paraphernalia — all felonies.

Stephens said to make the bust, valuable assistance was provided by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, and the Batesville Police Department.
