Shooting at Sage in Izard County injures one

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in a shooting early last (Thursday) evening in the Sage Community.

On the sheriff’s Facebook page, Sheriff Earnie Blackley, said they received a call shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday and responded to a residence in Sage. Blackley said there had been a shooting, and a male victim was taken to an area hospital. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Authorities are looking for a suspect in the shooting, identified as Jonathan Torres, 19.

Torres (pictured above in an image from the Izard County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page) is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.

The department said Torres was last seen in a red in color Chevrolet Pickup. It is believed to be a four-door model.

If you see Torres or know of his whereabouts, you are asked not to approach him and to call 911.

  1. Pioneer football team is crashing to the bottom of the conference, Again. Time for some big changes. But I know it won’t happen. Oh well. If “fans” are happy with them being cellar dwellers, then so be it.
