The Independence County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of two handguns from an apartment in the county.
Officer Bret Ward said the theft apparently occurred between last Thursday and Monday afternoon from an apartment on Fox Run Lane. The stolen handguns, owned by the apartment’s occupant, are described as a Glock 42 .380 and a Taurus Millenium .9mm pistol.
Ward said there are some possible leads in the case which is under investigation. The theft of a firearm is a felony.
