Mountain Yellowjackets lose their second conference game of the season to the Melbourne Bearkatz, 28-0


The Mountain View Yellowjackets lost their second conference game of the season with a 28-0 loss to the Melbourne Bearkatz on Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium in Mountain View.

The Yellowjacket offense struggled to get any momentum going in wet, rainy conditions.

Melbourne led 21-0 late in the third quarter when Mountain View had their best drive of the night get turned away on fourth and goal from the two.

Melbourne would add a late score to secure the victory.  Mountain View Senior Quarterback Tim Curran led the Yellowjacket offense with 41 yards on 17 carries, he also passed for 29 yards.

Melbourne Quarterback Gabe Lawrence led the Bearkatz offense with 16-25 passing for 210 yards and a touchdown, he also rushed six times for 20 yards.

Mountain View dropped to 3-2 in conference play and 4-4 overall, while Melbourne improved to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
