Obituary: Bobby Fudge

Mr. Bobby T. Fudge of Newark, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at the age of 82. He was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas the son of Cecil Fudge and Helen (Troxler) Fudge.

Mr. Fudge worked for Coca Cola for 26 years, Gen Corp Automotive and Fastbreak until his retirement in 1999. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was in the National Guard for 23 years as Staff Sergeant. He was called to duty during the integration of Little Rock Central High School, in 1957, and he had an unparalleled work ethic.

He was also an original member and lead singer of The Jokers. He loved drag racing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburg Steelers, and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

He was an avid animal lover. He was a member of the Newark Church of Christ where he was the song leader for many years and lead worship services at the nursing home.

Mr. Fudge was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Fudge is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Joella Marie (Rogers) Fudge, of the home; two sons, Adam Fudge and wife, Rebecca, of Sulphur Rock and Shane Fudge and wife, Christy, of Searcy; one brother, Nick Fudge and wife, Katrina, of Batesville; one sister, Roberta McGuffey and husband, Tony, of Batesville; two grandchildren, Halley Evan Fudge, of Batesville and Matthew Shane Fudge, of Searcy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Newark Church of Christ. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Adam Fudge, Shane Fudge, Matthew Fudge, Nick Fudge, Richard Fudge, Robert Fudge, Bernard Sexton, and Travis Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Slayton Thompson, Durwood Elms, Johnny Babb, Michael Williams, Roger Fountain, and Ronnie Fountain.
