As part of an Arkansas tour, the international guitar duo Johannes Möller and Laura Fraticelli will visit Lyon College for a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Bevens Music Room of the Brown Fine Arts Building.

Award-winning Swedish guitarist Möller’s close collaboration with Argentinian guitarist Fraticelli has resulted in a unique form of musical expression, their emotional playing style and strong connection making for unforgettable performances, the college noted in a press release. The duo will perform Möller’s compositions, which he describes as “an authentic manifestation of a globalized world.”

On their website moller-fraticelli.com, the duo describes their sound as the “unique fusion between Swedish perfection and Argentinian passion.”

Möller was awarded the first prize in the Concert Artist Competition in 2010 by the Guitar Foundation of America, which is considered by many to be the most prestigious classical guitar competition in the world. The site says many listeners around the world have come to admire his “highly characterized and idiosyncratic voice.”

Fraticelli was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and studied with Walter Ujaldón and Eduardo Fernández. Her love for music gave her the courage to emigrate to Europe, where she continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London and later the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. According to the site, she has been praised for “her beautiful tone and passionate interpretations.”

This event is free and open to the public. Lyon College is located at 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville, Ark., 72501. For more information about this event, contact Dr. Michael Oriatti at michael.oriatti@lyon.edu.
