Arthur “Pete” Gilbert, 69, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Nov. 3, 2019, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born June 9, 1950 in Flint, Michigan the son of Robert and Larah (Bowman) Gilbert.
Pete met the love of his life Loretta Sanders and they married on Feb. 8, 1969. Together they have one son, Peter (Kim) Gilbert of Brookland, one daughter, Lorie (Steve) Hurt of Jonesboro. Pete has two brothers: J. P. Reed of Walnut Ridge, and Junior Stuart of Jonesboro, four sisters: Linda Reed of Brookland, Charlene Tillery of Paragould, Rosemarie Elliott of Bono, and Carrie Butler of Walnut Ridge. He has three grandsons: Tanner Petero, Chase Petero, and Dylan Gilbert, four granddaughters: Hannah Hurt, Katelyn Gilbert, Braelyn Gilbert, and Kayleigh Broughton, one great-grandson, Isaac Broughton.
Pete was an owner/operator of truck driver most of his life, he had friends all over the United States and never met a stranger. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Funeral services are 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until Service Time. Interment will be in Fisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
