The Melbourne Bearkatz dominated in their first-round playoff matchup Friday night on the road against the Centerpoint Knights.
The story of the day was the Katz defense, who allowed less than 100 yards in the first half and only 136 for the game.
The offense took a couple of drives to get their playoff nerves out of the way before scoring 22 points in the second quarter, leading 22-0 at halftime.
The Bearkatz picked up right where they left off after the break, scoring 16 more in the third and another touchdown in the final period, resulting in a final score of 44-7.
The Katz advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will take on Glen Rose.
