Ozarka College has been awarded a $115,786 grant from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics for the purchase of a Redbird full-motion flight simulator. This 90-10 match grant allows Ozarka College to provide only 10 percent of what the simulator costs, the college noted in a press release.
The Redbird full-motion flight simulator is the second aviation training device for Ozarka’s aviation department and will allow students to fully engage in training at a lower cost than conducting all of their training in actual aircraft.
“We are appreciative of the Department of Aeronautics Commission awarding Ozarka this grant,” Dr. Richard Dawe, president of Ozarka College, said in the release. “It will allow the college to train advanced aviation students at a lower cost. Our graduates will be able to get high paying jobs as professional pilots immediately after graduation.”
