Gary Paxson, president & CEO of White River Health System (WRHS), has welcomed Dr. Amanda Smith (pictured) to The Children’s Clinic.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Smith is responsible for the care of newborns, toddlers, children, and adolescents. She works with parents to closely monitor development through well-child check-ups and immunizations, as well as encourage nutrition, exercise, and sleep habits that will create a foundation of good health for children in her care, WRHS noted in a release.
Dr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arkansas. She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She completed a pediatric residency from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La.
“I am very excited to return home to Batesville after being away for 11 years,” said Dr. Smith. “I am eager to serve the patients in our community and look forward to serving the parents and children in our region.”
Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, Jake and Bandit.
“We are proud to welcome Dr. Smith to the White River Health System staff,” said Gary Paxson. “As a local, she has a true passion for taking care of the families in our area.”
